Topographic Survey for Ravenwood Regional Park - Nashville, TN

Collier Engineering performed a Topographic survey on an existing site of the Old Ravenwood golf course – approximately 80 acres were surveyed. The survey department then processed the CAD data for the design engineers to utilize for their park design.

What made this survey difficult was that multiple parcels and areas of right of way required topographic surveys. The survey department performed services as directed on this project and did a great job following instructions and completing the project in a timely manner.

Specific Tasks:

  • Coordinated with our design staff internally to discuss needs for this project.

  • Before field visits began, we performed extensive office work researching property on Metro deeds/GIS website. Also, we obtained water and sewer maps from MWS.

  • Fieldwork consisted of topography and all improvements within the defined limits (80 acres), a detailed tree inventory, and as-built conditions of all existing improvements and utilities.

  • A two-person crew with a total station was utilized for the project.

  • Once field data was collected, we produced a CAD file that was utilized for design.
